MP1 Car Park Update

We are excited that construction of the Village Precinct and Car Park will commence shortly. When complete, it will return the member tennis courts, as well as providing new dining areas, open space and, importantly, up to 1500 underground parking spaces.

After listening to member feedback, we are pleased to provide an interim parking solution in collaboration with Greater Sydney Parklands that will accelerate the delivery of the project.

As of Monday, April 15, the following parking arrangements for the Sporting Club of Sydney will be in place:

  • Approximately 186 car spaces will be available in the eastern side of MP1 and a further 100 spaces on Driver Avenue (please see map below). The western side of MP1 will be closed to enable construction to begin.

  • Access to MP1 is subject to capacity and requires you to scan your card on entry at the boom gate.

  • Additional new car spaces a short walk away on Driver Avenue will be marked “Permit Holders Only”. You and your guests will be required to gain a virtual permit pass each time you visit the Sporting Club to access the permit spots. Further information on the process of obtaining a virtual parking permit will be communicated next week.

  • All parking will be for a maximum of three hours during Sporting Club of Sydney opening hours on non-event days, which will allow you the time required to use the facilities and ensure parking is available for as many members as possible throughout the day. Please note, if time limits are exceeded, fines will apply and may result in the loss of member parking privileges.

  • The new parking spaces on Driver Avenue will not be available prior to and during events at Allianz Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground, with clearways in place and event day road closures.

  • If parking spaces have been exhausted, the Entertainment Quarter offers two-hour free parking on non-event days, or there is metered parking available at the southern end of Driver Avenue.

  • We encourage those who can, to walk or ride to the Sporting Club, make the most of public transport in the area or car share.

  • The current event day parking arrangements will remain in place.

  • From June, the eastern side of MP1 will close to allow for the final stage of the Village Precinct and Car Park. Updated parking arrangements will be communicated ahead of the closure of MP1.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and for letting your guests know of these alternate parking arrangements during the main construction phase of the Village Precinct and Car Park.

Once open in 2026, you and your guests will enjoy access to four tennis courts and a clubhouse for the Sydney Lawn Tennis Club, exciting new food and retail spaces, landscaped gardens, more event-day parking and it will connect the precinct like never before. It’s an exciting project that will deliver great change and more benefits to your membership.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please reach out to our Member Services team.
